<p>The combiSENSOR KSB6430 integrates two distinct measuring technologies, leveraging their strengths to deliver highly accurate thickness measurements. This sensor operates within a measurement range of 5 µm to 3 mm, making it suitable for both ultra-thin and thicker coatings. The device consists of an eddy current sensor and a capacitive displacement sensor, allowing for non-contact, single-sided, and high-precision thickness measurement of electrode coatings applied to metal substrates.</p>
<p>The sensor setup assesses the thickness of layers on chrome-coated steel rollers that guide the material. The capacitive sensor measures the distance to the coating, and the eddy current sensor gauges the distance to the underlying metal roller. By calculating the difference between the two measurements, the system accurately determines the coating thickness with sub-micrometer precision.</p>
<p>Measurements are conducted in real time during the production process, facilitating swift and reliable inline quality control. The system is robust in demanding industrial settings, showing resilience against contamination and offering excellent temperature stability. It operates effectively within a temperature range of -10 to +180 °C.</p>
